> Aviquill is a web-based canvas note-taking app where users place and arrange blocks freely on an infinite canvas. No templates, no forced structure.

## What is Aviquill?

Aviquill is a block-based canvas editor. Instead of writing in a linear document, users place content blocks anywhere on a spatial canvas and arrange them however they want. It works like a digital whiteboard crossed with a note-taking app.

Users can try Aviquill instantly in demo mode without signing in. Signing in with Google saves work to the cloud and requires an active subscription.

- **Infinite canvas** — blocks live on a zoomable, pannable canvas; double-click to create a block, right-click for options
- **Block editor** — create and edit text and content blocks, move them freely
- **Block connections** — draw arrows between blocks to link ideas; connections can be locked or broken
- **Block grouping** — wrap multiple blocks into a named group; enter a group to work inside its own canvas scope
- **Block comments** — leave inline comments on individual blocks, visible to all collaborators
- **Free draw** — freehand drawing mode lets users sketch directly on the canvas

- **Sharing & collaboration** — invite others to a space by email, manage view/edit access levels
- **Live presence** — see who else is in a space in real time via live cursors and a watcher count

- **Constellation** — a star-map search view triggered by zooming out; blocks appear as stars, filterable by tag, date range, and fuzzy text search with ranked results
- **Tag inspector** — click any block tag to open a side panel listing every block that shares it, with ranked fuzzy search
- **Pan & highlight modes** — toolbar toggles for navigating large canvases and selecting multiple blocks
- **Zoom** — zoom in/out via toolbar or Ctrl+scroll
- **Theme preferences** — light/dark mode toggle, custom background, surface, and accent colors; ambient canvas effects
- **Public sharing** — generate a public view-only link for any space
- **Demo mode** — full editor available without an account; changes are not saved
